At the moment there are zero deductibles to homeowners for covered warranty claims. We ask that you see your homeowners insurance to verify the deductible for property insurance-related claims. In regard to hidden fees, our warranty is a one-time payment within the first year of the install, eliminating the risk of hidden fees.

We cover roof penetrations. In the case the installation is faulty and a leak is attributed to your solar installs attachment or flashing to the roof, Solar insure will work with our dedicated partners to repair the leak and at no cost to you. Please contact your roofing contractor for specifics on your roof warranty as this is outside the scope of the solar warranty.

No, the removal of panels during a roof repair/replacement would not be covered under the Solar insure warranty. In the event, your roof needs to be repaired/replaced, contact your original installer to remove the panels.

Property damage is typically covered by either the contractor’s liability insurance or the homeowner’s insurance policy. Additionally, things such as fire, theft, rodents, and hail are typically covered under your homeowner’s policy. If there is damage to the home during installation this is typically covered under the contractor general liability policy. We always recommended you request a copy of the contractor’s insurance before installation commences! Please also make sure to add your new solar panels to your homeowners insurance coverage,

We take a rigorous engineering approach in reviewing the manufacturers we work with, especially on the inverter side. From our perspective, the inverter is the weakest link in the solar array when it applies to reliability and the effects on our loss ratio. If an inverter manufacturer becomes insolvent, we become responsible for replacement and/or payment for the failed component. A link to our vetting process can be found here.
